How the Program Works
Step 1: Didactic Training (40 Hours)
2 weekends of hands-on classroom training.
Learn essential phlebotomy skills, safety procedures, and patient interaction.
Step 2: Certification Exam (NHA)
Prepare and pass the national certification exam.
Step 3: Clinical Experience (40 Hours)
Practice real blood draws in a supervised clinical setting.
Complete:
50 venipunctures
10 capillary punctures
2 arterial observations
Step 4: Licensing
Apply for California CPT1 license


Enrollment Requirements

The applicant or student should be at least 18 years or older and
-
Have all appropriate medical documents ready at hand regarding vaccinations.

Also, it is important to have a state I.D. license or a driver's license to verify your identity and

Copy of your high school diploma.

In the absence of a high school diploma passing the following tests will suffice:

General Education Development (GED)
-
High school equivalency (HiSET)
-
California high school proficiency examination (CHSPE)

Or official transcripts from higher education depicting credit for general education courses completed.


FOREIGN TRANSCRIPTS
All non-U.S. transcripts must be evaluated by an LFS-approved agency (NACES or AICE) to confirm U.S. equivalency.
